Microsoft introduced <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/Microsoft\/Terminal\">Windows Terminal<\/a> and there is no way back. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While reading its actual source code today I noticed quite a lot of familiar code (I did poke around in conhost.exe code with Ida before), but then I stumbled upon an interesting bit that this post is all about. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The following command:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">conhost.exe notepad.exe<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>doesn&#8217;t do anything on older version of Windows 10. However, the latest version (tested on 18363) has a little LOLBINish surprise:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hexacorn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/conhost.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hexacorn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/conhost.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7229\" width=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hexacorn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/conhost.png 651w, https:\/\/www.hexacorn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/conhost-284x300.png 284w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 651px) 100vw, 651px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>So&#8230; go back to your config and remove filters on <em>conhost.exe<\/em>.
